Castles, Classes, and Chocolate

Time for an update I believe. Sorry for the delay Dylan ;)
Wow so the last few days have been a crazy whirlwind of activity. I've realized it's getting harder and harder for me to come down to the email room to use the internet, for two reasons. A, there's always a ton of people using the wifi, so it's super slow, and B, I don't really want to use the internet unless I have to. Myself and the rest of the new students have been told countless times by past students and staff how much attaching ourselves to our computers takes away from our experiences here at Bodenseehof. There's so many new people to meet that you always have someone to talk to or get to know, and there's plenty to do elsewhere.

I'll just give a quick synopsis of what I've been up to over the last few days. Saturday was orientation and free time to get to know people. Sunday we had our first church service at school. We have a service every Sunday for the students and community members are invited so that's awesome. I don't think I've ever stayed in my church clothes all day though. We're required to wear them for the service, lunch, and dinner at least. If there's an evening service we have to wear them there as well. It's kinda nice though. Also on the Saturday and Sunday evenings there were two share times. Lots of people got up to share and it was amazing to hear stories of brokenness, redemption, loss, and joy. It was an incredible time. I didn't get up the nerve to share, but I think I am going to next Sunday evening because I was to lay everything bare before my classmates, so they know exactly who I am from the beginning.

Also on Sunday I travelled to the nearby town of Meersburg, which was a fantastically charming medieval village, where the oldest castle in Germany is located. Very interesting spot. If you like medieval history and you're ever in Germany, I advise visiting this town.

Monday was the first day of classes! Our principal Peter Reid spoke about walking the talk and it was amazing. I wish I could tell you all each and every tidbit of truth and goodness that God demonstrated through Peter's words. It was just so good. God is so good.
Tuesday we had more classes. Fun stuff.

Today there were more classes (surprise). During some of these lectures staff have been sharing their testimonies and these stories are so uplifting and inspiring to us as students in our faith walk. The weather here (yes, I am going to talk about the weather) is incredible! It is sunny every day after the daily morning fog clears up, and it is still warm enough to swim in the Bodensee, which a bunch of us did today. Friedrichshafen is a great town, and there is so much to see and to tell. I wish I could just walk around with a video camera on my head all day long and then just upload it onto here. But since our internet connection is slightly lacking at times and the fact that that would be like watching the "Truman Show," I will not do this.

Shout out to Mom, Dad, Jacq, and Al. Miss and love you all, but I am in very good hands here. Jesus has strong hands. And every thought of Him brings me joy.

Much love,
Mickeelie

P.S. There's a lot of chocolate here.
