Prague

I guess I should start blogging again, now that school is done. It was a bittersweet end but I think we were all ready to leave.

Currently I am in Prague. It's such a beautiful city! I walked the streets the first night I got here and was ecstatic to spend a few days here. There is so much to see in the old city. My hostel is 20 seconds from the Charles Bridge and is in walking distance of everything else. So far I have visited the Prague Castle (not the inside), St. Vitus' Cathedral, St. Nicholas' Cathedral, a classical music concert, the Charles Bridge, the Jewish Quarter briefly, the Lennon Wall, and J.J. Murphy's Irish pub where I've met a few characters and sampled some good Czech pivo.

There are a few things in Prague that are popular if you're a tourist who enjoys tourist traps, including the following: Thai massages, Segway tours, boat rides, classical concerts (the one really touristy thing I did), buying junky souvenirs from cheap shops, and of course the pivo,

Now here are some of the sweet things about Prague that are so touristy and a lot more fun: people watching on the Charles Bridge, spending an afternoon lounging in a sunny park with a picnic lunch, going into all the antique stores (of which there are many) because it's like a free museum, listening to the street performers all afternoon, taking all the side streets and finding sweet places to eat. And of course the pivo.

There are a few things I didn't do, but that gives me an excuse to come back! I'm so clever like that! Tomorrow I fly out for Barcelona where I will be meeting up with some Bode friends. Super excited!

Much love,
Mickeelie
